De-Spooking
Clinic 2,
July 10, 2004
This series of photos shows the typical first "putting to" for
our clinic horses. Lindsey Layne's Taliesan, a 3 year old Morgan
is put into and easy entry cart. The whip is Sharon Wilson, assisting
as headers are Joyce Faust and Judy Carrol. Tali has completed the
full series of De-Spooking clinics given in 2003, had extensive
ground driving and pulled weight before attempting his first cart
drive.

After ground driving quietly around the
ring, the whip enters the cart for the first drive on wheels! |

After quietly walking and halting for a
few minutes, one header is removed. Judy Carrol runs along with Tali
as we try out a first trot. |

After several walk/trot transitions, the
first drive is quietly accomplished. Tali's first cart drive was somewhere
between 10-15 minutes. |

Whip, Hildi Lukoff, drives her Hackney cross
pony, Major on one of his first drives out in public. Carol Bowe is
assisting as side walker. |
