4/25/26 8.30pm With heavy rain yesterday and rain this afternoon continuing overnight tonight we are rescheduling our Day in the Park Drive to May 23rd. We will also have a General Member Meeting that date in the afternoon, after lunch at 2pm.
THIS SUNDAY, April 26th, we will now have our unmounted Competition Clinic and a potluck lunch in the indoor at Elysian Fields Farm, 3736 Niner Road, Finksburg, MD. The timing stays the same starting at 10am with Combined Driving, Lunch at 12.30, Pleasure Driving at 1.30/2

Spring Day in the park
& competition clinic

This is our Spring Kick Off Driving Gathering!
Members and non-members welcome. Our Day in the Park events are open to anyone interested in learning more about driving, our club or who has animals they drive or are training to drive. We will have experienced drivers and instructors available to help answer your questions or work with you.
ALL ATTENDEES MUST SIGN IN AT THE CHECK IN DESK.

LUNCH AT 12.30PM
Bring a pot luck dish to share or your own lunch if preferred. Please bring picnicware, drinks and a chair. We will have a fun lunchtime activity too!

Competition clinic will start at 10am with Combined Driving.
We will break for an hour at 12.30pm for lunch.
Volunteer training either side of lunch.
We resume after lunch with Pleasure driving
You can do Day in the Park driving with your horse and attend a portion of the Competition Clinic if you want to. Bring your horse registration paperwork as usual with fee.

Try out a Driving Derby Course and see why this has become such a popular type of competition. Great opportunity to school with cones whether familiarizing with cones or training for our upcoming Driving Derby on MONDAYAugust 25th which is part of the Mid-Atlantic Series
Put your best foot forward and try out driven dressage (which really helps our development as a driver and our communication with our equid partners). Try out a test and get helpful input. Great practice opportunity if you are thinking of doing our Dressage and CT on SUNDAYAugust 24th or a Centuary Drive at that event. You will need to bring 2 copies of the test you want to do and contact Claire to schedule

The Maryland Horse Library and Education Center is part of the Maryland Horse Park System. We are excited to share this loction with you. Parking is in the lot next to the building. There are lots of accomodation and dining opportunities in the Reisterstown area.
Elysian Fields is a private farm dedicated to driving, offering opportunities with several instructors. We thank Lenore Huffman for hosting us and sharing her farm, equines and equipment.

11 am - 2 pm. Open to the general public.
Participation is open to members and non members.
-Showcase your Traditional Style Vehicle!
(includes reproduction or modern vehicles in traditional styles)
-Participate in a Judged Picnic Class!
We are holding just the Staged portion of the Picnic Class so no equines.
Set a table and 3 chairs with your vehicle with appropriate driving accessories, tableware, light fair and non-alcoholic beverages. Driving dress for class.
Judges will taste! $10 donation on the day to enter class.
Bring a dish for a Pot Luck Picnic at the Club Table
Prizes and Special Awards will be presented.
Dogs are welcome on a leash at all times.

Members, former competitors, active competitors & Judges discuss what to wear and carry in ALL driving situations. Bring your photos, outfits, turnouts and join in!
Reinsmanship highlights the practical skills needed for good driving. Good reinsmanship improves communication and confidence and is useful in all forms of driving. Learn more about this and practice with or without guidence.
